TIC Career Program

Instructors Career Program Information for Potential Students
TUi is proud to introduce our Instructors Career Program.
This program was designed by master educators to help any resident learn the
skills necessary to teach in SL.
All prospective TUi teachers are expected to complete the TUi Instructor Career
Course, however the course is for anyone interested in teaching in SL.
This program consists of six classes and a final "expo" in which you will teach
a class you've created during the program. Classes are two hours long, taught
once a week.
Participants are required to complete the homework for each session in order to
complete the course. Homework assignments help you build your classes and
interact with classmates to brainstorm and provide feedback for one another.
Homework normally takes 2-3 hours a week.
By the end of the 7 weeks, you will have developed one
short (5 minutes) and at least one long (1 hour) course on a topic of your
choice.

Lesson Planning- from topic to teaching
Key Components of a successful class
Choosing what to teach & how to teach it
The fine art of note writing for SL classes
Class Leveling
Class 3-Teaching Techniques
Creating Visual Aids for a visual world
Classrooms
Permissions Systems
Supply Jars
Note givers
Class 4 - Teaching Tools
Taught by students- 5-10 minute class on a SL teaching tool.
Class 5- Advertising & Teaching
Creating a posting in SL events
Advertising/Scheduling classes
Money Matters
Pro's and con's of Using Voice- notes should be involved too.
Getting a job
Class 6- Classroom Management/Troubleshooting in

Class Exposition- Classes created during the course will be taught during the
expo

the completion of the course, participants will receive a certificate reflecting
the successful completion of the course.

Course Cost: 4,000L (non refundable) payable in full
before the first class session.
Participants who successfully complete the program will be offered the
opportunity to work for TUi. After completing 90 days of active employment with
TUi, program participants will receive a 2,000L refund of their class fees.
In order to provide maximum attention, classes are limited to 10 participants.
